November 18, Sunday, proved to be an auspicious day for the 20 students who performed in CAPMT San Diego South Chapter’s Piano Auditions , and for the 3 ensemble groups who participated in the Ensemble Auditions!
Ranging from Classical to Contemporary repertoire, students performed their 2 solos and required duet piece for the piano auditions. The three groups for the ensemble auditions featured piano, violin, cello, and bass instruments. Heidi Lee Kim, NCTM served as Adjudicator. Students were rated from 1-5, with 5 (5-,5,5+) being the highest. Al students received participation trophies, certificate and adjudicator comment sheets.
All students who got a 5 rating will be invited to perform at CAPMT Southern Festival slated on Feb. 3, 2019, at LA Harbor College. Those who will perform will participate in a pre-festival masterclass on January 26, 1 pm, at Carmel Valley Library.
The auditions were held at Greene Music, Miramar Rd, San Diego. Kudos to all seven teachers participated, Event Chair Rowena Asuncion, and supportive audience, parents and family members.
