Designed for highly motivated and competitive students, these 2 competitions will start at the district level. District 1 (San Diego County and Imperial County) will run the competitions on February 9, 2019, Saturday at Greene Music Recital Hall.
CAPMT Honors competition provides a statewide audition program for serious, competitive students of all instruments and voice, but excluding organ. CAPMT Contemporary Music Comoetition is for highly motivated students and highlights the music of contemporary composer. It is open to piano, string, wind, brass, and voice students. Both competitions are open to students through age 26. The competitions foster advanced competition skills through heavier repertory demands. Preliminary auditions are done at the district level. District level first place winners will compete at the state finals slated on April 6, 2019.
